Think Marius and Adam around the time when they’re not sleeping with each other yet, but Adam is already with Marius 24/7. Late evening at one of Marius’ villas, Marius is sitting in a big armchair, reading something on his tablet. Adam is pacing, keeps checking windows and exits, even though he’s officially off duty and there are other guards outside. Marius eventually tells him to sit down, that all this pacing is irritating him. Adam protests. Marius insists, “sit down”. So Adam does, he sits down by Marius’ feet, like the loyal dog he is. Just sits there at first, still tense. And Marius reaches down to touch his shoulder, pull him closer until Adam leans against Marius’ thigh. And he pets his hair, scratches him behind the ear, just caresses him with one hand while he keeps reading in silence, for hours and hours, and gradually Adam relaxes, he ends up sitting there with his head basically in Marius’ lap, eyes closed and finally relaxed. And it becomes sort of a thing they do, on quiet evenings at home when Marius doesn’t need to go anywhere. And sometimes he wonders if Adam isn’t bored, sitting there for hours, but frankly it’s the only thing Adam wants or needs. Just being with Marius, knowing he’s safe, and Marius actually touching him is just the cherry on top. And if I didn’t have to get up in 5 hours, I’d tell you some more about the slightly awkward UST when they finally get up, when Marius decides to go to bed, and they just stand there for a moment because they want to stay together and keep touching, but no, Marius is reasonable and doesn’t invite Adam to come with him, so he goes to his own bed, and Adam goes to his bed in the room right next to Marius’, with the door open so he can hear him breathe and know he’s all right.
